Supported by the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, the Beckman Scholars Program at Duke offers generous research support and mentoring for two outstanding undergraduates from among applicants from the Class of 2010 (current sophomores). The program requires commitment to an intensive research experience beginning summer 2008 and continuing through summer 2009.
The Beckman Scholars Program is a program of research support and mentoring. Scholars will choose mentors from among select research faculty in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Mechanical Engineering, and Radiology.
Scholars receive support for two summers of research ($6,000 per summer) and one academic year ($4,000), plus a total of $3,300 for research supplies and scientific meeting travel over the period of the program. Scholars must commit to the entire program.
